Student Services

The Student Services Department offers a variety of programs and services, including student activities, wellness program, deans, counseling and guidance, college counseling, campus ministry, health and safety, library and technology center, and academic support.

Student Activities

Student clubs, student council (STUCO) and community periods are important parts of the Salpointe experience. There are dozens of clubs at Salpointe with something for everyone; STUCO offers opportunities for leadership and engagement with fellow students; and community periods bring enrichment and fun to the school day.

Wellness Program

At Salpointe, we believe that wellness is more than health. It is a positive perspective on life achieved by fueling your body, engaging your mind and nurturing your spirit. Our goal is to serve students by providing a caring environment and helping them create a healthy, balanced lifestyle that will last a lifetime. Salpointe’s Wellness Program focuses on eight areas: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social and spiritual wellness.

Deans

Salpointe’s Dean of Women and Dean of Men assist the students, faculty and administration in issues related to student behavioral expectations and conduct. Salpointe believes in restorative justice and strives to help students reach their full potential as scholars and community members.

Counseling and Guidance

Class counselors provide academic and personal counseling to all students. Each student has a class counselor who will guide him/her through their four years at Salpointe. Counselors hold informative seminars regarding relationships, drugs and alcohol, depression, bullying, internet safety and academic integrity. Salpointe’s Peer Mentor Program brings together students who would benefit from peer support and carefully selected mentors in an effort to help students who are struggling academically, socially or emotionally.

College Counseling

Salpointe’s full-time college counselor serves as the liaison between families, students and the colleges to which they apply. The college counselor meets individually with students and parents/guardians to formulate a college admissions plan, focusing on appropriate fit of institution and career interests; advises students on standardized test preparation; and demonstrates the use of the internet for college admissions research.

Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry Department provides students with spiritual formation through daily prayer, all-school Masses, spiritual retreats and service learning.

Health and Safety

Salpointe has a full-time registered nurse to provide care to students who are ill during the school day. The nurse also manages immunization requirements, drug testing and other health protocols as needed.

Salpointe’s Incident Response Team manages campus safety, security measures and emergency communication.

Library and Technology Center

Salpointe’s Click Family Library and Technology Center provides students with access to reference sources, databases, scholarly articles and videos, as well as audio, electronic and hard copy books. The Library is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Academic Support

Salpointe’s Learning Lab is a resource for all students who need help with learning and test-taking strategies, as well as a place where students can do group work or meet with educational specialists and peer tutors. Tutoring by Salpointe teachers in math, English, science and Spanish is free and available to all students Monday-Thursday immediately after school.

Students in the classroom
comas

What I’m most excited about at the University of Southern California is having the opportunity to expand on the things I have learned as a Lancer! This means not only what I’ve been taught in the classroom, but also the valuable life and social lessons I’ve learned at my time at Salpointe while participating in things like Kairos and sports.
