This summer, rising 7th and 8th graders enjoyed Salpointe’s STEM Summer Camp!
They learned about the vast world of microbes, how to look at them and why they are critical to life on the planet. Some of the camp activities included:
- building their own microscope (and taking it home!)
- learning how to prepare microbial specimens on slides
- genetically modifying and creating a bio illuminating microber
- measuring microbial activity in the world
- using microbes to make biofuels
- and more!
