Make sure to keep track of your college applications and decisions in Scoir – this is how we track your colleges. It’s important to list all the colleges you’ve applied to and update any decision you receive in Scoir. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. McCall.
2025 NIH Summer Internship Program
The National Institutes of Health is seeking students for its Summer Internship Program (SIP), designed for college, graduate and professional students interested in exploring careers in research and healthcare. The summer program in the DIR, NICHD is intended to support a diverse group of highly qualified students at various educational levels, and from a broad range of backgrounds, for
a minimum of eight weeks in the summer.
Participants will receive dedicated mentorship from a PI or trained postdoctoral or clinical fellow. Each participant will be given the opportunity to attend lectures, academic and career workshops, journal clubs and other programs in support of their academic development as young scientists.
To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, at least 18 years old by June 5, 2025 and currently enrolled as a senior in high school, attending at least half-time (or enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college or accepted into an accredited graduate program for the fall semester with the expectation of attending at least half-time.) The SIP application deadline is February 19, 2025, at noon ET, and reference letters are due by February 26, 2025, at noon ET. For more information and to apply, click

Spring Sports Sign Up Day – January 16
Attention ALL students eager to join a spring sport! Mark your calendars for Thursday, January 16, as it’s Spring Sports Sign-Up Day. Come and learn about expectations, tryout dates and meet the coaches. All meetings will kick off at 2:45 p.m.

African American Athlete Scholars
On October 6, 2024, a statewide search began to find premiere African American male scholar athletes. These Arizona student athletes must exhibit in their lives a commitment to high academic standards and substantive service to their communities. All of these athletes will be recognized at an in-person awards banquet and be featured on video on website and YouTube.
Applicants must meet the following:
- Male Student Athlete
- Have some African American Heritage
- High School or JR High Student (6th grade-12th grade).
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Good athlete (any sport)
- Past community service or willing to do some in the future
