Salpointe Weekly Peek – December 13, 2024

Weekly Prayer

Deacon Scott Pickett

Advent is to be a season of waiting…
Waiting for the arrival of baby Jesus.
Waiting for the second coming of Jesus at the end of time.
Waiting for Jesus to come into our hearts.
But in this immediate gratification world we live in, waiting has become very hard for us.
We are used to getting things when we want them.
Help us, this Advent, to be better at waiting.
Help us to see how You wait for us all the time:
You wait for us to turn away from sin and follow You.
You wait for us to remember to say our prayers.
You wait for us to speak only words of kindness.
You wait for us to thank You for our blessings.
Thank you, loving Father, for being so patient with us.
Help us, this Advent, to prepare our hearts for the coming of Your Son and to be more patient in the waiting.
Amen.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel…Pray for us.
