General Announcements

AP Mathematics Practice Exam Day

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, the CRR will host the 17th annual Advanced Placement (AP) Mathematics Practice Exam Day. Students taking the AP Calculus and Statistics exams can participate in this opportunity to take a full practice exam and learn how the exam is scored. At the end of the day, every student will know their score (1-5) on the practice exam they took. This event is FREE and hybrid, making it accessible to all AP students in Arizona.

Alumni Council Theater Event

Join us for the annual Alumni Council Theater Event on Saturday, April 13 at 12:30 p.m. The matinee performance of “Into the Woods” by Salpointe Productions is sure to be an entertaining afternoon. Ticket purchase includes entry to “Into the Woods” produced by Salpointe Productions Thespian Troupe 5370. Enjoy movie snacks, beverages, beer and wine included with the purchase of this special event ticket. The Alumni Event begins at 12:30 p.m. Performance begins at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 (all-inclusive). Purchase Tickets here.

SCEF Moonlight Roundup Gala Donations and Tickets

Upcoming College Visits on Campus

The University of Arizona admissions rep will be here on Tuesday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. and the Catholic University of America, Tucson rep will be here on Wednesday, April 24 at 2:30 p.m. to talk with interested students. The Peace Corps Prep Program from the University of Arizona will be on campus on May 1 during the Community Period. Please register in Scoir or contact Mrs. McCall if you are interested in an upcoming visit.

A Night Under the Stars — Prom Information

Get ready for A Night Under the Stars Prom!
  • What: Prom! A night of desserts, dancing and memories.
  • When: Sunday, April 28th, from 8:00-11:00 p.m. *Doors open at 8:00 p.m. *No entry past 9:00 p.m.
  • Where: Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, Kiva Ballroom *7000 N. Resort Dr. Tucson, Arizona, 85750
  • Who: Open to all Juniors and Seniors and APPROVED guests. Click HERE for the Guest Permission Form. Guest forms are due to Mrs. Lechuga in room 412 or the Student Services Center by the end of the day on April 24th.

  • What to Wear: Click HERE for the Prom Dress Code. All students and guests must follow the dress code. Any students not in the dress code will be sent home and your parents will be informed.

Seniors

Senior Slideshow

Attention Class of 2024 Parents and Students – It is time to send in your photos for the Senior Slideshow for our banquet at the end of the year. We are asking you to submit three photos: a baby photo, a high quality senior portrait or photo and a photo of you with friends.

Please submit your photos to this form.

The deadline for these submissions is Friday, April 26th.

College Planning for Seniors

Please keep our college counselor updated with all college decisions. Remember to 1.) mark your acceptances, denials and wait-list decisions in Scoir, and 2.) send a copy of college decisions and academic scholarships to college@salpointe.org. This information is tracked closely and needed prior to graduation.

Juniors

Junior College Planning

Juniors who are interested in applying out of the state for college are encouraged to attend our next workshop. The Get Out of Town Workshop will help students and parents understand the complexities of college applications for out of state colleges. The final workshop date available this spring is Saturday, April 13th @ 3:00 p.m. (Virtual).

Fine Arts

Into the Woods Spring Musical

You don’t want to miss this stellar musical that tells the story of a group of well-known fairy tale characters as they venture on their own journeys to find happiness and confront the complex realities of what follows each “happily ever after.” The talented cast and crew have been working so hard on this project and can’t wait to see you there! Performance dates are: April 12 at 7 p.m., April 13 at 7 p.m., April 14 at 2 p.m., April 19 at 7 p.m., April 20 at 7 p.m. and April 21 at 2 p.m. in Corcoran Theater. Tickets will be sold online and at the door.

Spring Athletic Commitment Celebration

Attention ALL Seniors who have committed to playing their sport in college next year, and did not participate in our January Commitment Celebration: On Wednesday, April 10th we will be having our Spring Athletic Commitment Celebration in the gym at 3:00 p.m. Please stop by the Athletic Office in room 307 to pick up an invitation. Mark your calendars! We will be open until 6:30 p.m. on April 18th for the Incoming Freshman Tailgate Event.

Have a birthday or celebration coming up? Spirit Store Gift Cards are available and make great gifts! If you have a Gift Card from last year or older, please be sure to redeem your balance by the end of this month.

Students that have ordered team or club shirts are reminded to pick up their orders in the Spirit Store as soon as possible. Boys and Girls tennis teams have many items not picked up.

Early Dismissal/Leaving Campus

Attendance Line number is 520-327-1990.

Please be sure to give at least a two hour notice for your request to be processed. All early dismissal requests are retrieved from voicemail. We do not have an intercom system, we have TAs taking passes to class to get students dismissed.

Used Truck Needed

Have a used truck you’d like to donate? Salpointe needs a 2015 or newer, open bed truck with less than 50,000 miles. If you would like to donate it to Salpointe, please contact Todd Schulte at tschulte@salpointe.org. Thank you!

Kickstart U College Application Workshops

Juniors and Parents: Do you know about the KickStart U College Application Workshop? Give your Lancer a head start on their college applications and personal statements this summer! KickStart U will once again hold its College Application and Essay Workshop at Salpointe this summer.

Kickstart U is an impactful program designed by Salpointe teacher Tim Evans and former Salpointe college counselor Lynn Ossowski to help students tell their unique stories to colleges. Students benefit from individualized writing instruction and application coaching in an enthusiastic environment that promotes engagement, reflection and creativity. The 4-day workshop will give students a head-start on the application process so they can focus on and enjoy their senior year. Students will work on writing college application essays, developing a college list and completing their Senior Bragsheet. Workshop dates are May 28-31 and July 22-25.
