Salpointe Girls Basketball Wins 4A State Title

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KVOA) – For the second time in three seasons, Salpointe Girls Basketball is the 4A state champion!

The top seed Lancers beat 2nd seed Mesquite 59-49.

“It feels amazing honestly,” Junior Forward Taliyah Henderson said. “There were a lot of people who have doubted us. We came out and faced all the talk. We had one mindset…win the gold ball and we were able to do that.”

In the first quarter, Sydney Anderson found her stroke. She drilled a three at the Buzzer to give Salpointe a 17-10 lead after one.

Later, Henderson scored an and-one bucket in transition to extend the Lancers lead to 15 at the half.
