Letter to Salpointe Families – August 2, 2024

A Welcome Message from the President and Principal

Welcome, Lancer families! We are energized and inspired by the promise of a dynamic, innovative 2024-2025 school year here at Salpointe Catholic! With a population of 1350 eager Lancers and 140 dedicated faculty and staff members, we have every confidence that this will be another banner year for our community! As we launch the celebration of our 75th anniversary this fall, our theme is “Honoring our Mission,” with a focus on Lancer values and excellence in education.

Our Catholic, Carmelite, community is characterized by student success, respect for every individual and service to our world. We are 100% mission driven. Take a few minutes to re-familiarize yourself and your students with our mission. It is our promise to you!

Lancer life offers a welcoming culture that is unique to Salpointe. The essence of this experience is all-inclusive: we are holistic, which means that we educate the whole person with spiritual, intellectual, physical, artistic, emotional and social development. This community is diverse academically, culturally and economically; it is innovative; it is safe and it is forever. You will come to see how each of these traits is absolutely tangible on our campus. When we talk about living Lancer values, values like respect and responsibility, accountability and honesty, leadership and good citizenship, prayer, faith and service to others, we mean it. The signature Salpointe experience starts here on campus, but it is truly a lifelong journey.

To support our goal of a successful and enriching year, we’re focusing on two key areas that will make a big difference: attendance and dress code.

These might seem like small details, but it’s the little things that add up to create a positive and productive school environment. Your support is vital as we strive for excellence in both areas.

Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial for academic success. To help manage and address any ongoing attendance issues, we have established the following process:

  • At 8 absences: Our deans will send an official email to inform you of the attendance concern.
  • At 10 absences: Our deans will give you a call to discuss the situation and explore solutions.
  • At 12 absences: A mandatory meeting with the principal will be required to address and improve the attendance issue.

Students are allowed up to 12 absences per semester per class, excluding school-related activities such as field trips, athletic events and retreats. We encourage families to be mindful of these absences and manage them thoughtfully, considering appointments, illnesses, and other commitments.

Dress Code: As a dress code school, we ask for your continued partnership in ensuring that your child adheres to our dress code guidelines. You chose Salpointe Catholic High School for its values and standards, and we appreciate your help in maintaining our dress code to foster a respectful and focused learning environment.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. Together, we will make this school year outstanding!
