Letter to Salpointe Community – Deacon Scott Pickett

Dear Salpointe Community,

It is with great sadness that we share with you that our beloved Deacon Scott Pickett, Director of Campus Ministry, passed away this afternoon about 1:15.

His wife, Nicole, shared that his passing was peaceful and that he was surrounded by his loving family.

Deacon Angel Gonzalez shared with our students, faculty and staff the following prayerful message: “Deacon Scott had great faith and love for his savior Jesus. He was very strong through his journey. Recently Deacon asked me to thank Salpointe Catholic for your prayers; he said that he could feel their power and that they gave him strength and peace. Deacon Scott often told me that he knew he had a big battle ahead of him, but he asked me not to worry about him, because God is good and he could feel His presence.”
We invite our community to come together in prayer as we grieve the loss of our teacher, mentor, brother and friend, Deacon Scott Pickett.
Almighty and eternal God,
You are the source of all mercy and the giver of comfort.

We humbly entrust our beloved Deacon Scott Pickett into Your loving hands. Comfort those of us who mourn and fill our hearts with the hope of Your promise of eternal life.

May we find peace in Your presence and joy in Your kingdom,
Where there is no more pain, sorrow or suffering.
We thank You, Lord, for the gift of his life,
For the love he shared, and the memories we cherish.
Give us strength in our grief, and remind us that we will one day be reunited in Your eternal embrace. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us.
Counselors and campus ministers are available to comfort our students this week. Lancers are welcome to come to Student Services and/or Campus Ministry as needed.
May God bless Deacon Scott’s family and the Salpointe community.
Sincerely,

Kay Sullivan, President
Ardemis Martin, Principal
