Once you apply, an online checklist will be created for your student.
The entrance exam is of critical importance. The entrance exam score indicates students’ readiness for Salpointe’s rigorous curriculum. It also provides a standard to evaluate the diverse applicant pool of students from all over Southern Arizona. Additional consideration is given to previous standardized testing data, 7th and 8th grade transcripts, recommendations, legacy, Catholicity and family interviews.
Policy on Admission of Students
All incoming freshmen and transfer sophomore applicants are required to take the Entrance Exam (HSPT).
- Catholic school 8th-grade students will take the Entrance Exam (HSPT) at their school in December 2024.
- All other 8th-grade students must take the Entrance Exam at Salpointe Catholic during the months of December 2024 and January 2025.
- Students applying as a Sophomore Transfer will take the Entrance Exam during the months of March and April.
More Information
The best preparation for success on the Entrance Exam (HSPT) is to work hard in middle school. Some students find it helpful to become familiar with the format of the exam. If you do want more information on the HSPT, practice tests, learning modules and additional links to other information, please click here.
Students should get a good night’s sleep and eat breakfast prior to taking the HSPT.
For Incoming Freshmen
Students who have completed the online Application, taken the Entrance Exam, and have completed other parts of the check list will be notified of their admissions status on January 31, 2025.
For Transfer Students
Notification letters of acceptance, non-acceptance, or waiting list placement will be communicated individually as students complete the admissions process.

Honors and Advanced Placement )AP) is largely determined by entrance exam scores. Salpointe Catholic also offers placement exams for those who seek to be placed in honors courses but did not initially test into them. English, Math and World Language placement tests are given each spring.
Salpointe maintains a dress code for all students. The dress code promotes a conducive learning environment, cultivates a serious approach to academics, relieves social pressure to keep up with current trends or styles and limits comparisons or competition among students. The dress code also supports the dignity of the individual based on character rather than on appearance. Students are expected to dress appropriately while on campus and during all school-sponsored activities.
