Salpointe’s STEM program offers unique opportunities for students to experience innovative curriculum in a professional setting.
ROBOTICS AND DRONES
3D modeling software is used in conjunction with hand tools and scientific instruments to design and program robots and drones systems to perform a variety of tasks. Students have the opportunity to earn their FAA Drone flight certification.
RACING THE SUN
Salpointe STEM students learn to harness solar power by building, converting and racing solar karts that compete with schools from around the southwest at the SARSEF Racing the Sun competition.
STATE-OF-THE-ART STEM CENTER AND EQUIPMENT
Innovation, fabrication and science lab equipment includes professional engineering software, 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC machine, MIG and TIG welders, Biosafety Level 2 cabinet and more.
SOLIDWORKS CERTIFICATION
Students use industry standard CAD/CAM software Solidworks and learn to operate state-of-the-art equipment in preparation for completion of the Solidworks Level 1 certification.
BIOTECHNOLOGY
Study of biotechnology with technical applications such as protein analysis, DNA/RNA isolation, polymerase chain reaction analysis and more.
UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA ENGINEERING 102
Developed in conjunction with U of A engineering faculty, this course provides students with an introduction to university level engineering curriculum and earns three units of college credit for UA Engineering 102.
